OUR PRIMARY MISSION

Our Primary Mission:
Removal of Invasive Species - IRIS

Florida is facing an escalating ecological crisis as invasive species—most notably Burmese pythons, tegu lizards, and other destructive non-native predators—rapidly spread through its delicate habitats, overwhelming native wildlife and destabilizing entire ecosystems.

Federal and State governmental agencies estimate that the Burmese Python has devoured 99% of the raccoons, the bobcats and the opossums; and 100% of the Marsh Rabbits in South Florida.

As the native prey are wiped out in South Florida, the Burmese Pythons and other invasive predators will be moving north into central and north Florida. It is estimated that the Burmese Python population may be around 300,000, as we move into 2026.

Feral hogs are wreaking havoc on Florida’s land and ecosystems.

Invasive plants are overpowering and disrupting the native plants and tress in parts of Florida.

In addition, the Lion fish are wreaking havoc on the Florida native fish species along our coastline and reefs; having reduced those fish populations significantly.

Removal of Invasive Species - IRIS

Pathway for Warriors recognizes that many of the veterans in Florida who are uniquely suited for invasive-species removal are those living with PTSD and combat-related injuries and trauma - individuals whose experiences have sharpened their vigilance, resilience, and sense of mission. • These veterans understand both the seriousness of the threat facing Florida’s fragile ecosystems and the importance of acting decisively to protect them. By giving these veterans a purposeful role on teams dedicated to defending the state’s wildlife, Pathway for Warriors empowers them to channel their skills and determination into a mission that safeguards Florida’s natural future while offering them renewed purpose and connection.

WHY WE EXIST

WHY WE EXIST

WHY WE EXIST

Together, we’re building a movement where veterans heal the land—and themselves.

Pathway for Warriors was born from the recognition that too many veterans return home without the structure, purpose, or support they once relied on, leaving them adrift in a world that doesn’t always understand their struggles.

Who We Are

Our mission is to restore Florida’s invaded ecosystems while restoring the veterans who protect them. By healing the land through environmental work, we create the structure, purpose, and stability veterans need to rebuild their lives. Pathway for Warriors will accomplish this mission by creating and staffing the Institute for the Removal of Invasive Species (“IRIS”) at its educational and training facility in central Florida.

In addition to its environmental efforts, Pathway for Warriors is deeply committed to rebuilding the lives of veterans in Florida who are transitioning from active duty without transferable job skills, as well as homeless veterans who have lost their way.

Pathway for Warriors will be providing these veterans with new career paths, through its partnership with AmSkills, a Florida non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing hands-on training in high-demand trades such as manufacturing, plumbing, electrical work, and heating and air conditioning—fields urgently seeking skilled professionals. By equipping veterans with practical, sustainable career paths, Pathway for Warriors not only addresses workforce shortages across the state but also restores dignity, confidence, and long-term stability to those who have served.
